Frequently Asked Questions
Wild Society is proudly based on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, right in the heart of Kings Beach, California.
You’ll find us at:
8612 N. Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach, CA 96143
Our kayaks are located at the back of the large green building on the lakeside of North Lake Boulevard, right at the Raccoon Street roundabout.
You’ll see Wild Society signage on the front windows — but please note: the boutique space inside is currently closed.
Important: Parking is not available at the building.
Guests should park at the Raccoon Beach parking lot directly behind the kayak launch site, or in nearby public lots around Kings Beach.
Look for the lake… and the magic will be waiting for you just beyond the roundabout!
There is no parking available directly at our building, but don’t worry — there are several convenient options nearby!
We recommend parking at the Raccoon Beach parking lot, located directly behind our kayak launch area.
Additional public lots are available throughout Kings Beach.
You can view a full parking map here:

Pro Tip: Carpooling is highly encouraged, especially during the summer months when Kings Beach is one of Lake Tahoe’s most popular destinations.
Parking lots tend to fill early — the earlier you arrive, the easier your adventure begins!
Lake Tahoe is a growing destination — and with just a few two-lane highways winding through the basin, traffic can build up quickly, especially in the summer months.
We strongly recommend allowing plenty of extra travel time to reach Wild Society and find parking without stress.
Use apps like Google Maps for directions and Waze for real-time traffic updates to help you navigate easily.

Pro Tip: If you arrive early, Kings Beach is a fun little town to explore — with lakeside parks, coffee shops, and boutiques all within easy walking distance.
Important Reminder:
We have a very strict Cancellation and Late Arrival Policy.
We are unable to make exceptions for traffic delays or parking difficulties — all adventurers are responsible for planning their travel time.
Trust us: it’s always better to be early, relaxed, and ready to drift into your adventure!
We do not launch at Sand Harbor — and honestly, that’s a good thing!
While Sand Harbor is famous for its beauty, it’s also one of the busiest destinations in Lake Tahoe.
Due to heavy popularity from travel guides, blogs, and social media, it often reaches capacity within minutes of opening, and long lines of cars can start forming as early as 6:00 AM.
In fact, Sand Harbor now requires advance reservations just to manage the crowds.
At Wild Society, we offer a more peaceful, authentic experience.
We launch right from Kings Beach — a lively but welcoming spot — and within just a few minutes of paddling, you’ll find yourself surrounded by crystal-clear waters and breathtaking scenery, away from the crowds.
You’ll enjoy the same stunning Lake Tahoe clarity without the chaos — just you, the water, and the wild beauty all around you.
Less stress. More magic. That’s the Wild Society way.
Unfortunately, Sand Harbor and Secret Cove are each over 10 miles from our Kings Beach launch site — much too far for a safe paddle in our clear kayaks.
But don’t worry — you won’t miss a thing!
Just a short paddle from our launch location, you’ll discover a real hidden gem: a stunning, secluded spot that offers the same breathtaking crystal-clear waters, without the crowds.
It’s our best-kept secret — and it’s waiting for you to find it.
When you rent with Wild Society, you’re not just floating; you’re exploring a quieter, more magical side of Lake Tahoe.
Wild Society launches right from a beautiful CA State Park Beach in Kings Beach — just steps from the shoreline!
After we set you up with your clear kayak or paddleboard and all your gear, we’ll attach a trolley to each vessel to make transporting them smooth and easy.
You’ll roll your kayak or SUP about 30 yards down a paved path to the designated non-motorized boat launch area.
Before you head out, our Travel Ambassadors will show you exactly how to use the trolley, so you’ll feel totally confident.
Once you reach the beach, you’ll detach the trolley and simply place it in the back of your kayak or paddleboard while you enjoy your adventure.
You’ll also receive a fun and helpful Explorer's Handbook, filled with:
• Tips for using your equipment
• Safety reminders
• Fascinating Lake Tahoe facts
• Fun games to enjoy while out on the water!
When your journey wraps up, you’ll reattach your trolley and roll your kayak or paddleboard back up to our setup area.
Please note: Due to California State Parks regulations, our team is not permitted to assist with equipment transport.
But don’t worry — the walk is short, the kayaks are lightweight (under 40 pounds!), and with a little help from your trolley, you’ll be floating into adventure in no time!
To make the most of your clear kayak adventure at Lake Tahoe, we suggest bringing:
• Plenty of sunscreen (the sun on the water is no joke!)
• Sunglasses (polarized if you have them)
• A hat for extra sun protection
• Comfortable water shoes or beach sandals
• Clothes you don’t mind getting wet (and dry clothes for afterward — leave these in your car!)
• Drinks and snacks (no alcohol, please)
• A camera or phone with a waterproof case — because trust us, you’re going to want to capture every magical moment
Pack light, float free, and get ready for an adventure you’ll never want to end.
Of course!
Each of our clear kayaks comes with a dry bag for storing your essentials.
The bags are a good size for personal items like phones, keys, snacks, and sunscreen — but we always recommend packing light for the most comfortable and carefree adventure.
Bring only what you need, and let the lake carry the rest away.
When you arrive, one of our Wild Society Travel Ambassadors will meet you with everything you need for your adventure.
First, we’ll check you in and get you fitted with a life vest and any accessories you’ve selected.
Then, you’ll receive a friendly orientation:
• A quick tour of your clear kayak or paddleboard
• Easy instructions on how to use the equipment (including your trolley!)
• A safety briefing to keep you floating worry-free
• Expert tips on the best spots to explore around Kings Beach
You’ll also receive your Explorer’s Handbook — a beautifully crafted guide filled with maps, tips, fun facts, and games to make your time on the water even more magical.
Once you’re ready, you’ll transport your kayak or paddleboard a short distance to the beach using a convenient trolley — no heavy lifting required!
After that, your Lake Tahoe adventure officially begins.
Hop in, set sail, and let the magic unfold.
Every Wild Society adventure includes everything you need to float safely — and stylishly — across Lake Tahoe’s crystal-clear waters!
Your rental includes:
• Life vests for every guest

• Plus a few extra surprises to make your adventure even more magical!
Just bring your sense of adventure — we’ll handle the rest.
We totally get it — but unfortunately, we’re unable to apply promo codes after a reservation has been completed.
Our payment processor doesn’t allow us to adjust transactions retroactively once they’re finalized, so we kindly ask that you double-check and enter any discount codes at checkout.
The good news?
If you forget to use your promo code, you’re welcome to save it for a future Lake Tahoe adventure with us! (Just note that exclusions may apply depending on the terms and expiration of the specific offer.)
And who knows?
We hope you’ll have such an amazing experience, you’ll be excited to come back — or maybe even share the magic with a friend!
We know waiting for a refund isn’t the most exciting part of an adventure — thank you so much for your patience!
Refunds typically take 7–10 business days to process through our payment processor and return to your account.
As soon as we receive a cancellation or need to cancel a reservation (such as due to high winds or weather concerns), we process refunds immediately on our end.
Please note:
Occasionally, when we experience a high volume of cancellations (for example, during unexpected weather closures), our payment processor may temporarily hold refunds for review.
We aren’t always notified when this happens — so if it’s been more than 10 business days and you haven’t received your refund, please reach out to us directly.
Your message will help us flag the issue, contact our processor, and work to resolve it quickly for you!
Thank you again for your understanding — your Wild Society adventure experience matters to us, from beginning to end.
